Anuvasana means to stay in Sanskrit. This panchakarma treatment is used to balance Vata Dosha of a patient. In ayurveda, Vata is responsible for taking care of most of human body functions. Unhealthy food habits and environmental disturbances are considered major factors for imbalanced Vata in our bodies. It is called Ardh Chikitsa (half treatment) in ayurveda as it has a significant role in managing several medical problems. In Anuvasana Basti, oils and fats are administered through enema.
