Types of Gynaecological Diseases
- Infertility (Bandhyatava) – Difficulty in conceiving or suffering miscarriages due to factors like ovarian, tubal, uterine, PCOS, endometriosis and age-related issues.

Ayurvedic Treatments for Gynaecological Disorders
Uttara Basti: In this treatment, sterile medicated oil or ghee is placed into the uterine cavity to treat the patient for conditions like infertility, anovulation, endometriosis, tubal block, heavy bleeding & recurrent miscarriages. This results in the purification of uterus and fallopian tubes.
Yoni Prakashalanam: In this treatment, herbal oil and medicated decoctions are used to treat vaginal infections along with white discharge. It is very beneficial in the purification of all genetical organs.
Yoni Pichu: In this treatment, small tampons soaked in medicated oils are placed inside the vagina for 4-5 hours. It is very effective in issues like cervical erosion, introitus, cervicitis, vaginismus, cystocele, infertility, rectocele, etc.
Kati Basti: A good quantity of warm medicated oil is kept on the lumbar region for some specific period in this treatment. It brings relief in sciatica, low backache, lumbar spondylosis and muscular spasm at lumbar region.
Dhoopan: Its process involves fumigation of vaginal and vulval region with herbal medicines. In most of the cases, dhoopan is carried out post delivery in order to reduce pus, watery secretions and wound discharge.
Kshar Pratisaran: Kshar is nothing but the ash of burnt herbs which is applied over affected areas, mainly cervicitis and cervical erosion.
Shirodhara: Herbal medicated oil is continuously poured on the forehead of the patient in this treatment. It brings relief in anxiety, menopausal stress, stress due to infertility, fatigue, hypertension, vertigo, insomnia, psoriasis, depression, headache, etc.
